SERVICE & PARTS HISTORY

- Russell Harriman established Brake Service
& Parts in Bangor in 1948.
- Brake Service has 8 locations that distribute
parts for all light and heavy duty trucks.
- Brake Service has 3 service locations that
service cars, pickups and heavy duty over the road type trucks.
The Olive Street location also has their "R" Stamp from
the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, to
do repairs, alterations and modifications on pressure vessel's
(storage tanks on delivery trucks).
- Brake Service acquired Equipment Depot on Hildreth
Street in Bangor in August of 1996. Equipment Depot sells and
installs dump bodies, service bodies, van bodies, and cranes.
- Brake Service acquired Gould Equipment in May
1998 in South Portland, ME and opened another location of Gould
in Hampden, ME that same spring. Gould Equipment sells petroleum
equipment and service's trucks and installs tanks on oil and propane
delivery trucks.
- Brake Service has 3 locations that have a machine
shop which can rebuild drive lines, reline brake shoes, sleeve
axles, and turn brake drums. Brake Service also has
an electrical shop that repairs starters and alternators.
